Phi Tiles

Phi Tiles brings together four families of geometric tiles into a single composing environment. Move between Mosaic, Rhombus, Penrose, and Spectre tiles — each with its own rules, its own kind of order, and its own visual character. One app to explore them all.

Mosaic tile family — six shapes on a 60° angle grid
Mosaic 6 tiles. Periodic.
Rhombus tile family — three rhombuses at different angles
Rhombus 3 tiles. Symmetric.
Penrose tile family — thin and thick rhombuses
Penrose 2 tiles. Aperiodic.
Spectre tile family — single irregular monotile
Spectre 1 tile. Monotile.

Phi Tiles grew out of Penrose Tiles and Rhombi Tiles. The ideas from both earlier apps have been unified and expanded here.

Four Tile Families

Switch between Mosaic, Rhombus, Penrose, and Spectre families without leaving the app. Each family has its own matching rules, its own geometry, and its own visual logic.

Pattern Mode

Complete a central rosette and the pattern expands automatically, repeating your tiles around the center to build larger symmetric structures.

Color

Long press a tile to open the color picker and build palettes that reveal structure and rhythm across any tile family.

Export

Save your favorite compositions and export clean screenshots for sharing, posting, or revisiting later.

Movie Rendering

Turn your designs into animated motion art. Render multiple movie styles, including build replays, rotating loops, breathing effects, globe projections, and other visual transformations.

Browse

Open the Library for saved designs or the Gallery for built‑in compositions ready to explore, across all tile families.
